City Street Sweeping

Beginning in March and continuing through November your street will be swept during the second full week of each month. We will sweep on the same day your trash is collected. This means if your trash is picked up Tuesday, we will sweep your street on the second Tuesday of each month. It would be helpful if you would remove all vehicles from the street in front of your homes on the scheduled sweeping day. This would allow us to sweep to the curb line. Your anticipated cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.

Household Hazardous Waste

Springtime to many people signals a time to clean out the basement or garage. While cleaning, you may encounter some hazardous or toxic wastes you wish to dispose of. The most common forms are paint, thinners, gasoline, waste oil, oven cleaners, insecticides, and anti-freeze, to name a few.

Please do not throw these items into your trash container. See our Recycle page for the proper way to dispose of them.

Sanitary Sewer Back Up

Whenever citizens on Edgewater’s sanitary sewer system experience a sewer back up in their homes they should call the Public Works Dept. first. The reason for this; although it is rare, is that the sanitary sewer main may be plugged. We will respond immediately to check the sewer operation. If the main is plugged we will remove the stoppage as soon as possible. If the main is functioning properly, we will notify you.
